PEO Tips for January 2007 In this issue we have some breaking workers' comp insurance news, some special announcements, some Networking tips and a new Networking Buddy of The Month (Craig Clossen - see below!) Monthly tip from agent John Will Tenney Florida Comp Rates Down This Year - Does this affect your rates? So the rates went down - this means I pay less, right? Not necessarily! If you have had comp for a long time, or if you are with a PEO that has been in business for more than three years, you may have to wait for the lower rates. That's because rates become effective for established accounts on the anniversary rating date. This date is usually (but not always) the date the PEO's or your policy first became effective, called (surprisingly enough) the effective date. So if your payroll bill or your insurance premium invoice does not show a rate decrease, you may want to inquire with your agent about the effective or anniversary rating date.
Other Announcements/PEO Pros News Networking Group We

Will Tenney, Property & Casualty Insurance Agent for PEO ProsNow to continue with another favorite topic of mine: Networking. Networking is simply defined as meeting people and expanding your sphere of influence. If you imagine each person surrounded by a "sphere" of people that they know (and more importantly, they know that person!) then the advantages of working with another person become obvious. It is my hope that networking will replace cold calling and other obnoxious marketing methods in this new millennium. Networking Tip #3: Who knows YOU! You've heard people say "it's not what you know but who you know" haven't you? Partially correct. The correct saying is "it's not who you know but who knows you" that counts. For example, I know who Jessica Simpson is, and I can probably find her cell phone number on the internet somewhere. Does that mean she will take my call? You get the point. In every networking and marketing activity, name branding must be one of your essential goals. Make sure your prospective clients know who you are, and most important, what you can do for them!
Craig Clossenof Current Books 4 U Craig is a professional networker. His referrals always have a personal touch, on the order of "This company is having a problem with workers' comp - I told them you are the right person to know, and could help them with their problem." There is no doubt that our business has prospered due to our relationship with Craig. We highly recommend his services if you are looking for help with your bookkeeping. Our second month Best Networking Buddy award goes to Craig! (If you would like to have your testimonial printed here, or you know a good Networking Buddy, please contact our office.)
