As expected, the rates for workers’ compensation insurance increased slightly.

This was expected. Various legal decisions in the past year have increased the potential cost of legal fees, which is a major part of the cost of workers’ comp.

We predict that this will cause some shifts in the comp market as employers will seek alternatives to traditional policies.

Do not panic, we are still in business.

Our 800 service was being transferred to a new carrier and apparently there was a “glitch” in the transfer (even though we’ve already paid.) The old carrier finally released our numbers (which they are required to do BY LAW) and they are working again.

The 800 #’s were getting a “disconnected” message which has been resolved.

PEO Pros is expanding, and hiring. We are looking for entrepreneurs / office managers / sales managers to open offices with an equity position in other areas of the country, and are hiring sales reps at all locations.

We welcome Jason Cutter to the family, the new manager of PEO Pros Midwest, our new division focused on the midwestern states.

Jason has opened offices in Cincinnati, OH and Lexington, KY.

We expect great things from this.

As expected, there have been a few minor bumps in the road as we transition to our new server. This past week there were times when our employees’ mailboxes were returning “mailbox full” messages when sent emails.

This was a technical error, and the settings have been corrected. This error should not happen again, but there is always a possibility for further errors.

At this time we will declare the transfer to the new server as complete. Anything left after this falls under the category of minor maintenance.

In addition, PEO Pros has been given an updated look.

We hope this site continues to serve our clients well.

By transferring to a new server, many of our blogs and database tools are now obsolete. One of our favorite blog themes (Neptune) does not work with the upgraded server, so we have been forced to find new themes. In addition, the previous photo gallery software had to be switched.

This is slowing down our transition somewhat. We are extending our transfer completion date until this weekend. As before, we expect to have some missing links and images popping up for several months following the transfer.
