Ok let me kick this off.

I am John Tenney, president of Cypress Isles HOA, in Waterford Lakes.

My biggest concern is crime.  I woke up at 2am in August to find two men climbing in my family room window.  I screamed at them and they left but nonetheless, I was "scared spitless."

I believe that "neighborhood connectivity" is a prime contributor to crime on our communities.  There are four exits from my neighborhood, which has to be attractive to a criminal.

Also, the high amount of cut thru traffic certainly exposes our properties to more than the normal amount of people.  Since Cypress Isles contains larger homes, this has to be attractive as well to criminals.

And where do criminals live?  For the most part, they seem to be in the tax-credit housing.  It's where we find stolen cars all the time.  It's where we found MY car when it was stolen.

Tax credit housing (or so called "affordable housing") was created to help the average school teacher or fire fighter find an affordable place to live.  The problem is that starting salaries for these positions are too high for tax credit.

Starting salaries for teachers and firefighters are in excess of 30k.  Tax credit housing salary is max 25.5k.

So who is in tax credit housing?  Single moms, students and people without legal, declared income.

Ask any Orange county deputy where they look first when there has been a robbery.  10 bucks they say one of the tax credit apartments in the area and there are many in the area.

The reason for that is political and I'll get in to it later.
